One-Stop NYC Murals

Ever since I have started living in New York, apart from the Times Square, I had always been fascinated by the beautiful graffiti walls and murals. New York is a very big city and so this holiday weekend I decided to cover one stretch of area. As the lazy-bum I am, I didn't want to keep hopping from one subway station to another looking for these murals (wanted to save metro swipes too :p).

So here's how I planned it. I did some research and decided to visit an area where I would get as many as possible murals at 5 mins walk distance. So I decided to head to the Prince Street and Mott Street as they have a lot of murals at almost every street corners. One can reach there via the D or F train and get down at Broadway-Lafayette Street or via the J train and get down at Bowery Station.

So here are the 4 murals that I liked the most and that serve as the perfect backgrounds for clicking pictures. I checked these and many other murals out in my short 1 hour visit. All of them were at 5 mins walk distance.

1. Rag & Bone Mural

Location: Rag & Bone, 73 E Houston St, New York, NY 10012

When you start walking towards the Houston Street you'll come across a lot of murals at every corner. This colorful and vibrant mural is the side wall of Rag & Bone shop. The murals on this wall keep on changing. Currently it's this one.

2. Little hearts Mural

Location: Little Cupcake Bakeshop, 30 Prince St, New York, NY 10012

This cute wall belongs to the Little Cupcake Bakeshop. Co-ordinating your outfit with this background can really create amazing pictures.

3. One Can Mural

Location: 242 Mott St, New York, NY 10012

Right across the street of Little Cupcake Bakery is this mural on the Mott street. It's has the perfect background to flaunt your street style and shoot some cool boomerangs.

4. Cartoon Mural

Location: 192 Mott St, New York, NY 10012

I found this mural in search of the #LoveWall mural that had been famous for a while now. The beautiful love wall has now been replaced with this cute cartoon mural.

So it's a wrap for this time. I hope to visit other murals soon too. If you plan to visit this place, I would suggest go in the morning before the shops open because some shops have amazing art on their shutters too. Also when you visit keep your eyes open, you might never know in which corner you might stumble upon an amazing street art.  I would love to see your pictures and hear about more murals like these in this area. Let me know if you found this helpful!
